A Silent Voice Summary

Shouko Nishimiya starts to go to a new elementary school in 6th grade. She meets Naoka and Shoya, her two "bullies". Shouko is deaf and carries a note book around to communicate with her peers. Shoya and Naoka taunt and damage Shouko's hearing aids until she can barley afford anymore. When Shouko leaves Shoya begins to get bullied by his peers. As the years go by Shoya develops depression and when he reaches higher education he has thoughts of suicide. Shoya lost his friends and cant seem to look anyone in the eyes, ever.

His mother finds out and Shoya promises to his mother he would not kill himself. Shoya meets Shouko again and tries to talk with her. When Shouko gets anxious and scared Shoya realizes how much he had hurt Shouko and feels bad. Throughout the whole movie Shouko and Shoya try to be friends again. Shouko ends up developing feelings for Shouko but cannot express it to him clearly. Shoya and Shouko are friends and Shouko invites Shoya to see fireworks with her. By the end Shouko tries to commit suicide but Shoya saves her but ends up injuring himself instead. The movie ends by Shouko and Shoya seeing eachother and both apologizing for the trouble they caused to eachother.
